Zoe puts the brakes on

By Axegrinder axeblog

Ardent cyclist and Guardian columnist Zoe Williams has temporarily abandoned her two wheels for four.

The reason? Her current pregnancy.

Zoe surprised staff at Sky News recently when she opted for a chauffeur-driven car to arrive in time to review the papers on the Adam Boulton show.

My man behind the camera lens at Sky says: “Last winter Zoe came in to review the early editions on Paper Preview and insisted on cycling all the way from north London to our studio at Osterley.

“She didn’t finish until midnight and a freezing fog had descended. We offered her a car but she said she would prefer to cycle down the A4 into London and then on to Haringey.

“We asked how long it might take and she said: ‘Only an hour and a half.’ It all seemed easy to her.”

What a trooper she is!
