Life for the regional press agencies is tough.
With rates stuck in another century, and the consolidation of newspapers into a handful of powerful groups, it can be difficult to make a living.
But that doesn’t excuse the behaviour of Wessex News, which has been banned by The Sun for lifting stories from regional newspaper web sites.
For news agencies to follow up other journalists’ stories is one thing, but copying them word for word and trying to sell them on is a long way over the line.
