Website to unveil BPA finalists

The shortlist for the 2007 Press Gazette British Press Awards will be revealed next Tuesday, 27 February, on www.pressgazette.co.uk.

Finalists for 15 of the 19 award categories will go live on the site at 9.30am.

The shortlists for the visual categories of photographer, sports photographer and cartoonist are to be announced on 6 March.

The hotly contested Newspaper of the Year shortlist will be revealed in Press Gazette magazine on Friday 2 March.

This year the top newspaper will be decided by an academy of 150 judges drawn from across the journalism indus- try who are expected to have read a broad range of newspapers over the whole of 2006.

Hosted by Jon Snow, the event takes place at London’s Grosvenor House on Monday, 26 March.
