‘We got the bastard’ – death of Osama Bin Laden in front pages

By Press Gazette

News that the world’s most wanted terrorist – Osama Bin Laden – had been killed by US special forces was announced by the White House at 11.35pm local time on Sunday night, in time for it to make morning newspaper front pages across the USA.

Some of the UK’s regional evening newspapers – such as the Evening Times in Glasgow – also had the news on the day on Monday. Otherwise, the UK national press had the story today – with every newspaper leading on it.

Here are a selection of front pages from the US and the UK.
