Radio Times has promoted long-standing deputy Liz Vercoe to acting editor, following the sudden departure of editor Nigel Horne last month.
Vercoe, a former associate editor on the Sunday Mirror, joined Radio Times in 1994, initially in marketing. She moved to editorial and became deputy under former editor Sue Robinson.
A spokesman said the BBC intended to "take its time" recruiting a new editor and the process had not yet begun. Radio Times is also seeking an executive editor (features). The first round of interviews have taken place and the second are due to take place shortly.
Cathy Brown has also joined the title as its new associate publisher, working with publishing director Ashley Munday.
