Complaints about bullying, racism and sexism at the Tyne Tees ITV newsroom have led to payouts totalling hundreds of thousands – The Guardian reports today.
The paper reports that problems in the Newcastle newsroom started six years ago over a manager who referred to disabled people as “window lickers” and made other controversial comments about women and ethnic minorities.
Despite the exit of the manager, and a journalist whistle-blower, with big pay-offs – The Guardian reports that a further three female journalists lodged complaints of bullying, sexism, and racism, sparking more investigations and payouts.
