Practical Parenting magazine has hired Mara Lee, TV presenter and editor of its Australian counterpart, to be its new editor.
Lee is due to fly over to the UK and begin her new post in June, replacing former editor Sara Pates, who left to work on a new launch for IPC’s parent company, Time Inc., in New York.
A well-known parenting expert in her native country, Lee has a regular slot on the Australian weekday show Mornings.
Prior to becoming editor of Practical Parenting in Australia in 2000, she edited the title Bride to Be, having previously worked as a journalist for Reed Business Communications.
Lee has also published two books Baby’s First Year for Dummies and Staying Mum: the First Year.
