The Times series in Warwick has helped track down a desperate and heartbroken newsagent who disappeared from his home for six weeks. After following the story of missing Derek Hartley for several weeks, the newspaper discovered, on interviewing his wife, that Hartley had suffered a breakdown and was wandering the streets.
The paper launched an appeal on its front page to help find the man. Eventually, two ramblers who had read the Times spotted Hartley living rough in a country park in Coventry.
