Times parliamentary sketch writer Ben Macintyre is moving to help relaunch the newspaper’s Saturday edition.
It follows the announcement last month that Michael Gove, who was assistant editor and columnist, was to be promoted to the post of Saturday editor. Gill Morgan, who edits The Times Magazine, was promoted to be his deputy.
The changes are part of editor Robert Thomson’s decision to concentrate on boosting the readership of the paper’s Saturday edition.
Deputy letters editor Sally Baker has been promoted to letters editor following the retirement of Ivan Barnes.
