Time Out guides really hit the spot

By Press Gazette

Time Out readers will be able to access the magazine’s eating and drinking guides via a mobile after the launch of the UK’s first text location-based service.

The move will enable readers to find recommended restaurants, including Chinese, French, Indian, Italian and Thai – and the Time Out “critic’s choice”.

The service, available to Vodafone customers, will cover more than 1,500 individually reviewed restaurants in cities throughout the UK, including Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool and London.

According to Time Out, users will simply choose a cuisine, text it to 8745 from their mobile and the magazine will send details and reviews of the nearest two restaurants within seconds. Each message costs 20p to receive.
