About £400,000 of equipment belonging to the BBC was stolen last year – up 16 per cent on 2007 – according to figures obtained by the Sunday Mirror.
A spokesman said the BBC “regards this level as unacceptable and we are investigating measures to ensure it is reduced”.
Stolen items include computers, phones, cameras, kettles – and a tray of mugs.
