Fighting for quality news media in the digital age.

The Times to launch monthly science magazine

By Roberto Barros

The Times will this week launch a new monthly magazine focusing on science and environmental issues.

The new 60-page magazine, to be called ‘Eureka’, will be given away for free with the Times from Thursday – then again on the first Thursday of each month.

It will cover a wide range of topics, including the latest scientific developments, life sciences, earth sciences, green issues, and oceanography.

Eureka will feature contributions from Times specialist writers in addition to a series of well-known names from the science world.

James Harding, editor of the Times, said: “We believe that many readers want a broader read about how science can transform our lives and our planet, which demands rigorous, engaging and exceptional reporting.”

The Times has lined up BMW, Shell and BAE as long-term sponsors for the new title.
