Two new members have been appointed to the Scott Trust, owner of the Guardian Media Group.
Maleiha Malik, lecturer at the School of Law, King’s College London is joined by Sir Derek Higgs, chairman of Alliance & Leicester.
Stepping down is Martin Scott, retiring after 17 years as a trustee. He is the great-grandson of CP Scott, the celebrated editor of the Manchester Guardian.
Liz Forgan, chair of the Scott Trust, said: ‘I am delighted to welcome two people of such distinction in widely different fields to the Trust. Both are long-standing Guardian readers but will bring a valuable outside perspective to the work of the Trust in a rapidly changing media world.”
