The old-fashioned virtues

By Press Gazette

A tip of the cap to Luke David, reporter with the Wood & Vale Express. He was surrounded by corporate heavies after daring to take pictures at a shareholders’ meeting of a company linked to Dame Shirley Porter, the disgraced Conservative Westminster Council leader.

David stood his ground admirably, and even had the presence of mind to fake a toilet visit in order to ensure the film was secreted safely about him.

A point scored for that old-fashioned journalistic virtue espoused by the late Nicholas Tomalin of The Sunday Times: rat-like cunning.
