Telegraph appoints new website communities editor

By Helen Potter

Telegraph Media Group has appointed Kate Day as the new editor of its website communities.

She replaces Shane Richmond who was appointed as TMG’s head of technology editorial across its digital and print platforms last month.

Day joined TMG in May, 2007. She is currently social networks content editor, a post she had held since October.

She has also run a photography blog on telegraph.co.uk.

Marcus Warren, editor of Telegraph.co.uk, said: “Kate has done an outstanding job helping develop Telegraph blogs and My Telegraph.

“Her new role is central to our plans for Telegraph communities as well as for engaging with our audience through all forms of social media.”
