Sunday Times business editor John Waples is quitting journalism to join City PR company Financial Dynamics.
He has been with the Sunday Times for 15 years and was promoted to his current job when Will Lewis left the paper to become business editor of the Daily Telegraph.
It is the latest in a series of high-profile departures from big journalism jobs tor the world of PR. In October, Sun political editor George Pascoe-Watson left News International to become a partner with Portland PR. Last year former Newsnight editor Peter Barron left the BBC for a high-flying PR job with Google and political correspondent Guto Harri took a PR job with the Mayor of London.
Former News of the World editor Andy Coulson is currently spokesman for Conservative leader David Cameron.
