London College of Printing student Penny Woods has won a £150 prize for accurate and entertaining reporting produced to tight deadlines.
Woods was one of several students reporting on speakers’ presentations at the Best Practice showcase, an event attended by 400 delegates keen to improve their business fortunes.
Richard Pharro, managing director of sponsor APM Group, said: “She deserves a great future.”
Woods, who is completing her dissertation on press and morality for an MA in journalism, is currently looking for work on a local paper. “Ultimately I would love to be the editor of the Daily Mirror, but I think that’s a little way off!” she says.
