Star move for Neil

Neil Gallagher has been appointed head of production for the Evening Star in Ipswich.

He will be responsible for setting up the new joint news and sports production department.

Gallagher, who was previously assistant chief sub-editor, has worked for the Star for two years. Before joining he had worked on the East Anglian Daily Times, Mid Anglia Newspapers and the Royston Crow.

Another addition to the subs’ desk is Ed Hogg, who has been promoted from sports design editor to the position of chief sub-editor in the new department.

Hogg joined the Star in 2001 from the Express & Echo in Exeter, where he was deputy sports editor.
