Hugh Muir of the Evening Standard is to join The Guardian as a senior reporter.
Muir has been a senior reporter for three years at the Standard and has a strong record for breaking major stories. At The Guardian, he will be a senior general reporter with additional responsibilities for covering London issues
Muir said: “The Guardian is a brilliant paper with a very strong team and it is interested in the things I think are important.

“I had three and a half great years at the Evening Standard but I felt the offer to move to Farringdon Road was too good to turn down.”
