Sports PR puts a foot wrong

By Press Gazette

I received a press release about a Sport England South West walking month (which later turned out to be a week).

The
release says that the week starts on 17 September. Bearing in mind that
I have received this on 26 September (by e-mail), I query the date. Do
they mean October? No, I’m told, the agency working for Sport England
South West had to embargo the release.

Why on earth would anyone
want to embargo a press release about a walking week, and why embargo
it until nine days after the event has started, two days after it has
finished?
