A free weekly title in Shropshire has ceased publication and been replaced with its sister paper.
The last edition of the Ludlow Journal, part of South Shropshire Journals, rolled off the presses last week.
The paper is one of three weekly free papers published in South Shropshire by Midlands News Association, which also owns the Wolverhampton Express & Star and Shropshire Star newspapers.
The website of the South Shropshire Journal, which is also run from then same office in Ludlow, revealed details of the closure on Friday.
‘This week’s edition of the Ludlow Journal is the last, as it is ceasing publication as part of a major restructuring plan to boost both the South Shropshire Journal and sister evening paper, the Shropshire Star,’the South Shropshire Journal reported.
According to the most recent figures from the Audit Bureau of Circulations, the Ludlow Journal averaged weekly distribution of 9,297 between June and the start of January this year.
