Soutar free to set up new business

Mike Soutar, IPC's editorial director who was put on gardening leave nearly four months ago, is being released from the company to set up a new publishing research and development business.

Soutar's new venture, Crash Test Media, will begin trading on October 2 from premises in Soho. He plans to provide a unique outsourcing service to magazine publishers, providing them with teams to develop projects more quickly and effectively than they can in-house.

"We'll be able to test ideas to destuction – allowing publishers to make all their mistakes before they launch," he said.

Full story and interview in this week's Press Gazette, out on Thursday.
