Jon Snow, the face of Channel 4 News, is to present this year’s Press Gazette Regional Press Awards. Snow has been the main presenter of Channel 4 News since 1989. He was named television news presenter of the year by the Royal Television Society in March.
Snow has anchored Channel 4 News from wherever major world events occur: from Hong Kong at the time of the handover to China, from Washington during the Clinton impeachment hearings, from Stormont during the negotiation of the Good Friday Agreement and most recently from the West Bank, New Delhi and Baghdad. His range of international interviewees extends from Nelson Mandela to Tony Blair and Monica Lewinsky.
Snow joined ITN in 1976 after working in local radio and was made Washington correspondent and later diplomatic correspondent.
The Press Gazette Regional Press Awards, now in their 15th year, will be held at the Hilton Hotel, Park Lane, London, on 4 July. The deadline for entries is 19 May.
