Lifestyle magazine Wallpaper has appointed former Vogue senior designer Rebecca Smith as art director.
Working directly with creative director Tony Chambers, Smith will head up the design team while helping to define the vision for the brand.
She will also work on the new biannual travel title, Navigator.
Editor-in-chief Jeremy Langmead said: “With Rebecca we know we’re getting exactly what is required for the role: passion, commitment, an incredible eye and reams of contacts.”
While at Vogue, Smith played a key role in determining the magazine’s image. Before this she was a stylist and designer on i-D and the Clothes Show Magazine.
Smith said: “Wallpaper is the perfect move for me since it combines all my loves: design, art, and fashion.”
She takes up her new position this month.
