An exhibition of celebrity photographs by Stephen Shakeshaft, the Liverpool Daily Post & Echo’s award-winning picture editor, opens in Liverpool in May.
It includes pictures of The Beatles, Paul and Linda McCartney and present-day stars such as Kylie Minogue. Only one animal is featured – legendary Grand National-winner Red Rum, seen with trainer Ginger McCain the day after winning the race for the third time.
“Many of the photographs were taken in Liverpool theatre dressing rooms before and after shows,” said Shakeshaft. “I am fascinated by the way celebrities prepare themselves for going on stage and then see them relaxing after their performances.”
The exhibition, Shooting Stars: Famous Faces by Stephen Shakeshaft, is being held at Liverpool’s Conservation Centre and runs from 21 May to 28 September.
