Film industry B2B title Screen International is creating an editor’s position based in London.
The move means editor-in-chief Colin Brown, who has worked for the weekly for 16 years, will have scope for a more strategic role.
Screen’s publisher at Emap, Tim McLoughlin, said: “Colin Brown is the best editor-in-chief in the business. The creation of the editor position in London will give him the support and the talent he needs to move the brand on to even greater things.
“Jobs like this are rare – filmed entertainment is energising the consumer marketplace right now.
Screen is an important brand in a fascinating market and has a real chance to make a reputation. I expect a lot of interest.”
During his time with Screen, Brown has spent nine years in the US, where he will remain. He has been editor-in-chief for five years and was at the forefront of the title’s redesign. Screen was this year’s PPA international business and professional magazine of the year.
