Robin Morgan leaves Sunday Times Magazine

Sunday Times Magazine editor Robin Morgan is moving on after 13 years in the job.

He is leaving the Sunday Times 30 years after first joining the paper as a reporter.

Morgan is being replaced by Sunday Times Washington correspondent Sarah Baxter.

Under his editorship the Sunday Times Magazine has won numerous awards – it picked up two awards at the Press Gazette Magazine Design and Journalism awards last year, for feature writer of the year Ariel Leve and interviewer of the year Lesley White.

Morgan said: “I wanted to leave on a high – the relaunch of the magazine last year, the restoration of photojournalism in the new Spectrum section and the magazine’s most successful year in producing award winning writing.

“That, coupled with the realisation that I’ve now spent more than half my life with the newspaper convinced me now is the right time to give someone else the privilege I’ve enjoyed, producing one of the world’s great magazines.”

Sunday Times editor John Witherow said: “Robin has been an outstanding editor of the Magazine.

“He has brought energy, enthusiasm, creativity, experience and flair to one of the great jobs in British journalism.

“He was the driving force in the recent successful redesign and he has built up a stable of outstanding writers. We all wish him the very best.”
