Conquest Business Media, whose flagship UK and US title is The Manufacturer, has launched The BoardRoom, a subscription magazine which will go direct to the desks of chairmen, managing directors, CEOs and financial directors of the UK's biggest companies.
The title, edited by Victoria Hammond, will target FTSE 350 companies, firms listed on the Alternative Investment Market and selected private companies with a £50 million-plus turnover.
Hammond said: "While the corporate pinstripe suit inspired the design of the magazine, don't expect the staid kind of offering that's currently available in other magazines — locked in a by-gone era and aimed at a mythical shiny toecaps and bowler hats brigade.
"The BoardRoom is for today's boardroom director — hard-working, hardplaying and unashamedly prepared to enjoy the good things in life that are the rewards of success. Directors may be directors, but they're people too."
The BoardRoom's group editorial director, Ken Hurst, said the new title aimed "to inform and to entertain in a straight-talking way that busy people with too much to do and too little time to do it will appreciate".
The issue's cover interview is with Theo Paphitis, star of BBC2's Dragon's Den. Other features scrutinise the top 10 earners among FTSE 100 chiefs and high-profile boardroom bust-ups.
Columnists include Sunday Times economics editor David Smith, Daily Mail political diarist Quentin Letts, and Mail on Sunday personal finance writer Tony Hetherington.
