Promotion at Company

By Press Gazette

Company has promoted features editor Lindsay Frankel to deputy editor to take the place of Victoria White, who became editor earlier this month, writes Ruth Addicott.

Frankel, above, joined Company as entertainment editor in 1999 under editor Sam Baker. She was brought in to boost the celebrity content and the reviews section, making Company “more of an authority” on music. She was made features editor a year later.

“Until now, the running of the features team has been my remit, so the job of deputy editor will be much broader,” she said. “My background is very much features and celebrity, but the key thing is being number two to Vic and [in charge] when Vic’s not here.”

Frankel began her career on Attic Futura’s teen magazine TV Hits but in 1997 went freelance, writing for Bliss, New Woman, Smash Hits!, Minx and 19.

She later joined the staff of Minx as reviews editor.

White said Frankel was “by far the best candidate for the job”.
