Press Fund boost

By Press Gazette

A whip-round at the gala dinner during the Society of Editors annual conference raised more than £1,300 for the Newspaper Press Fund.

In addition to its conference sponsorship, Camelot provided the 320 diners at London’s Imperial War Museum with tickets for the lottery daily draw with a possible top prize of £30,000.

Before president Jonathan Grun announced the winning numbers, he asked SoE members and guests to make a donation to the NPF in response to Camelot’s generosity.

PA editor Grun, who handed over the presidency to Neil Benson of Trinity Mirror Regional Newspapers at the end of the conference, said: “We are immensely grateful to Camelot for its wonderful support and to our members and guests for so generously helping journalism’s main charity.”
