Posh and Becks drop libel case against the News of the World

By Press Gazette

David and Victoria Beckham have dropped a libel action against the News of the World avoiding what would have been one of the most high-profile libel trials of recent years.

The famous pair filed a writ over a 12 September story headlined “Posh & Becks on the Rocks” – and denied allegations that they had “irresonspible and aggressive rows”.

The case was due to go to the High Court on 5 December.

News Group newspapers has confirmed that the action has been settled on a confidential basis.
