The prime minister’s wife, Sarah Brown, is to guest-edit an issue of the News of the World‘s Fabulous magazine.
She will edit the 19 July edition of the Sunday tabloid supplement, which will focus on raising awareness of women’s health issues.
Brown is patron of the health research charity Wellbeing of Women and has been working closely with the group as part of the issue.
She said: “Guest-editing this special issue of Fabulous has certainly been a brilliant new experience for me.
“I’ve loved every minute. The 19 July edition marks the start of a campaign by the magazine to raise funds to help WoW’s scientists make the next breakthroughs in women’s health.”
Gordon Brown’s wife interviews Jools Oliver, the wife of celebrity chef Jamie for the magazine. They discuss fertility problems Jools overcame to produce three healthy babies.
Brown’s themed issue also includes TV doctor Hilary Jones on medical issues often regarded as taboo – yet which affect thousands of women.
News of the World deputy editor and Fabulous editorial director Jane Johnson said: “We hope our unique collaboration with Sarah Brown and the Wellbeing of Women charity will help raise awareness of women’s health issues among our readers and beyond.
“We look forward to a long and fruitful partnership with this important charity and thank Sarah for committing so much time and energy to a cause close to her heart.”
