We are contracted by IPC Media Ltd to provide the UK and Irish race
coverage and other editorial content for Cycling Weekly magazine.

The
issue raised by Roger St Pierre (“Unpaid labour is a disgrace”,
Letters, 11 February), whereby the magazine invites readers to send in
their race pictures, should be seen in context.

He implies that
the magazine is asking readers to send in pictures of their local
races, thus avoiding having to pay freelance photographers.

The
pictures concerned do not relate directly to a particular week’s race
coverage. They are there more as a splash of colour than anything else.

All
“live” pictures accompanying our coverage of the more important races,
and other news and feature material, are professionally sourced by the
magazine.
