Glasgow Evening Times editor Charles McGhee, left, has been appointed to the Press Complaints Commission, replacing Sunday Post editor David Pollington.
Announcing the appointment, PCC chairman Sir Christopher Meyer said: “I am delighted that Charles McGhee will be joining the commission at the beginning of 2004. He has a wealth of experience in the newspaper industry and will bring a valuable Scottish perspective to the commission’s work.
“At the same time, I would like to pay tribute to David Pollington’s sterling service to the commission. He has been a tremendous colleague and will be much missed.”
McGhee is one of seven newspaper and magazine representatives on the 16-member committee, which meets monthly to adjudicate on complaints.
