PA's Noble scores with Owen's miss

A picture, by Press Association photographer Phil Noble, showing the shared anguish of Liverpool’s Michael Owen and the Kop after he missed a goal, has been named the FA Premier League photograph of the decade. The miss came during Liverpool’s 3-2 defeat by Manchester United in September 1999. It was chosen from a shortlist drawn up by a panel of experts which was then voted on by fans on the Premier League’s website. Noble, a Liverpool supporter, said: “Typically I was at the wrong end covering the United attack and watched as Michael Owen went through on United keeper Massimo Taibi only for his shot to be saved.”
