The three-day National Union of Journalists delegate meeting in Southport started this morning. The delegates will discuss more than 150 motions, and determine the NUJ’s policy for the future.
NUJ president Pete Murray said: “This conference is an opportunity to take some time to look back and learn from our successes from the last 18 months. But it is our central task here to look forward – to study the threats we face, and come to grips with how we will fight them together, in unity, with confidence and determination.”
You can follow the conference as it unfolds via the NUJ’s live blog and news feed. Journalism students attending the meetings have been asked to tweet every detail of the conference. The hashtag is #nujdm
