The Publican has named its former deputy editor, Caroline Nodder, as its new editor.
Nodder takes over from Lorna Harrison, who is stepping up after eight years to focus on her role as editorin-chief, expanding the paper’s contacts and improving links with readers.
Nodder joined The Publican as a staff reporter, before moving up to become deputy editor and then acting editor while Harrison was on maternity leave.
She left two years ago to become head of communications at the British Institute of Innkeeping and is currently communications manager at pub company. the Barracuda Group.
Harrison said there were no plans for a big relaunch as the title has undergone changes over the past few months.
Commenting on the appointment, she said: “Caroline has a combination of first-class journalistic and management skills, coupled with a thorough understanding of the industry which puts her in a perfect position to take the title forward.
“Caroline will concentrate on developing our editorial team and implementing our new editorial strategy, freeing me up to develop relationships in the industry and kickstart our campaigning and lobbying activity.”
