New recruit

By Press Gazette

Kerrang! has recruited Matt Potter, former managing editor on Bizarre, as associate editor (features), writes Ruth Addicott.

Potter will be responsible for commissioning and editing all the music features.

He has been on Bizarre for the past three years, working for its previous publisher, I Feel Good, as well as current owner Dennis Publishing.

Potter has made regular appearances on Radio 1’s Sunday Surgery and written for Jack, The Sunday Telegraph and Maxim.

Potter has been reading Kerrang! since 1984. “I feel like I owe it because it’s given me so much pleasure, reading about records and going to gigs that I wouldn’t have otherwise been to,” he said.

“That’s how I know what the reader feels like. There’s nothing like the pleasure of being turned on to a new band who absolutely rock your world.”

He said he liked the fact that Kerrang! was “at one” with its audience. “All the people in the office are listening to the same things as the people who read the magazine and that really appeals to me,” he said.
