Redline, a magazine for 18 to 30-yearold men who modify their cars, has a new managing editor. Danny Walter has been promoted from production editor to the newly created role.
Walter, 28, has been at Future Publishing for four years and has worked on Redline for the past three.
He will now be playing a more integral part in the development of the magazine and its team. He said: “I was hoping for promotion at some time in the near future, I think we all do, don’t we? It just came a bit sooner than expected. It feels brilliant.”
Walter started out as a sub-editor on Trials and Motocross News, a national weekly off-road newspaper, in 1998.
He moved to Future in 2000 as production editor on motocross publication MXUK, before becoming acting editor for six months. He became production editor of Redline in July 2001.
Walter has taken up his position immediately. Redline publisher Mike Lamond said: “This promotion recognises not only the quality of work Danny has put in over the past few years, but it also underlines how instrumental Danny has been in the increasing success of the magazine overall.”
