New FT UK news editor as Crooks gets energy beat

By Press Gazette

Sarah Neville has been promoted to the job of UK news editor at the Financial Times, replacing Ed Crooks (pictured) who has been given the new job of energy editor.

Neville is currently editor of the analysis page and joined the FT in 2002 as a diary columnist. She has also been assistant UK news editor, deputy UK news editor and weekend news editor of the paper.

In his new role, Crooks will cover the “geopolitics of energy diplomacy” and co-ordinate a team of reporters across the world covering this beat.

He joined the FT in 1999 as economics editor before becoming UK news editor two years ago. He was previously economics correspondent for the BBC.
