Jo Haynes has been confirmed as the new editor of Pulse. Haynes has been with the CMPi title for GPs for eight years and became acting editor in June this year.
Haynes said: "The ongoing challenge in a competitive market is to consistently keep Pulse at number one, and we're doing that with brand extensions such as seminars and online initiatives which we are launching, planning and integrating with the Pulse ethos."
Haynes said the title had worked to become a more campaigning magazine and had teamed up with the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) to provide an exclusive series of supplements designed to "pick out the practical points of NICE guidelines for GPs".
She added: "GPs are probably as time hungry as any other professional, overworked and busy, so we aim to give them nuggets of take-home advice with every article."
