The only Irish all-talk radio station, Dublin-based Newstalk 106, has received a boost with the publication of the latest radio listenership survey by the Joint National Listenership Research for 2003.
The survey found that with the pulling power of the local stations in the Republic continuing to rise, the national stations are bearing the brunt.
Newstalk’s listenership rose to 4 per cent last year and managing director Dan Healy claimed it had risen to 5 per cent in the past six months.
