When Trinity Mirror chief executive Sly Bailey promised savings of £20m after a profits warning in July, it seems she meant business.
After announcing 65 job cuts at the Birmingham Post & Mail, Coventry Telegraph and Midlands weeklies, now Trinity’s North Wales and north-west titles are to see 30 job cuts and the closure of seven papers, as Holdthefrontpage reports.
With the eight planned job cuts at the Daily Mirror, it all makes for a period of extreme belt-tightening for one of the UK’s biggest publishers.
