More than 1,000 readers contact MoS over unfair power direct debits

The Mail on Sunday has reported a massive response from readers after it exposed the fact that British Gas is increasing the monthly payments of direct debit customers whose accounts are in credit.

The MoS revealed yesterday that energy suppliers are sitting on £4bn in direct debit payments they have taken from customers without their consent. More than 1,000 readers have contacted the paper to complain about the practice.
