Philip Smith, editor of Haymarket's Media Week, is to join Brand Republic, the parent company's marketing and media news website, as its head of content.
In this new role Smith will oversee the editorial development of the site, which is relaunching and recruiting eight further editorial and sales staff this year.
Gordon MacMillan will continue as editor of the site.
Media Week deputy editor Colin Grimshaw will be acting editor until a replacement for Smith is announced.
Brand Republic is relaunching at the end of the year, when Media Week's web content will be incorporated.
Rufus Olins, managing director of Haymarket Brand Media, said that higher level of contributions from each magazine into Brand Republic would be expected, but the changes did not affect Media Week's print title.
