Do you have the skills to help generate great media coverage for the wonderful work of conservation?

Our client is a nature conservation charity with over 800,000 members dedicated to bringing back wildlife and connecting people to nature in the UK.  They need someone with a love of the wild and background in journalism or PR to help them spread the word.

As part of the Communications team, the main purpose of this role is to promote the Trusts and their activities and messages to UK audiences through the media, with a view to influencing key stakeholders, public opinion and action for wildlife.  You will work to develop and manage strategic relationships with the media and will protect and enhance the Trusts’ brand and reputation.

With proven successes in publicising campaigns, you will already have excellent written and verbal communication skills.  You will also be keen to develop creative ideas and will be confident copywriting, editing and proofreading.

The successful candidate will ideally come from a print / broadcast media or an in-house press office / PR agency.  You will have experience of developing and delivering media plans and will be skilled in the generation of news stories and publicity events.  Excellent research, writing, opportunity-spotting and pitching skills are essential.
