Rock magazines led the way in the ABC music mag circulation stakes for the first half of this year.
Emap's weekly heavy metal magazine Kerrang! rose 24.2 per cent to 80,186, an increase only bettered by Classic Rock magazine – which rose 26.4 per cent to 56,037.
Emap monthly Q dropped 1. 3 per cent to 158,271 and its sister title Mojo fared better with an increase of 6.2 per cent to 121,746.
IPC weekly NME managed a small increase of 0.8 per cent,
while sister title, the film and music monthly Uncut, lost nearly a fifth of readers, down 19.3 per cent to 88,756.
Development Hell had mixed figures
with struggling dance music title Mixmag down 10.1 per cent to 41,757 following a recent re-launch. Its monthly music title The Word fared better with an
increase of 5.3 per cent to 35,142.
