By Press Gazette

Flagging lads’ mag Loaded has been overtaken by rival Maxim
as it continues to lose ground to year-old men’sweeklies Zoo and Nuts.
The six-month figures from the Audit Bureau of
Circulations (ABC) show Dennis title Maxim is now selling 234,183
copies per month, an increase of three per cent compared with six
months ago, and Loaded has dropped over six per cent to 220,057.
Meanwhile, men’s weekly Zoo is closing the gap on bitter rival Nuts –
narrowing the headline gap in six months from 90,000 to 35,000 copies.
Zoo is now selling an average of 240,215 copies
per issue – a rise of 20 per cent on six months ago – compared to
275,459 for Nuts, a drop of five per cent.
In other sectors, Emap’s celebrity weekly Closer
has broken the half-million barrier for the first time since it was
launched two years ago, while in the teen sector, Mizz magazine
has shown a year-on-year sales drop of 30,000 copies to 70,320. Top
sellers Sugar, Bliss and CosmoGIRL! have all enjoyed year-on-year
increases.
