The Guardian could continue its awardwinning run after being shortlisted in the newspaper of the year category for the London Press Club awards.
It is up against The Times and the Daily Mail on the shortlist for the awards bash on 16 May.
Since turning Berliner in September last year, The Guardian has been given a string of design prizes and was named British Press Awards newspaper of the year last month.
Tory leader David Cameron is to present the prizes at Claridges Hotel in London.
