Littlejohn to defect from Sun to Mail

By Press Gazette

The Daily Mail will announce today that it has poached The Sun’s star
columnist Richard Littlejohn to write a regular column.
Littlejohn is already believed to be the UK’s best paid columnist
and was on
a deal reported to be worth £1 million a year to write columns for the
Sun and for TV work on Sky – although his show for the broadcaster was
dropped last year. He previously spent four years at the Mail, between
1994 and 1998. Daily Mail editor Paul Dacre said: “By turns witty,
scabrous, wise, always penetrating but never dull, Richard takes no
prisoners with his outspoken views and comment. Whether you come from
the Left or the Right, he is required reading. I am absolutely
delighted that he will be returning to his spiritual home later this
year.”
